Fibre in Rodgau: Free Only During the Construction Phase

Rodgau is getting a fibre network. During the construction work in your district, you get the house connection free of charge. After that, it costs money. In two districts, this is already the case. In three more districts, construction continues.

What is the status of the rollout?

District Status
Hainhausen, Weiskirchen Construction phase ended in December 2025. A new house connection costs money.
Jügesheim, Dudenhofen, Nieder-Roden Construction phase continues. Until it ends, the connection is free under conditions.
Rollwald is part of the rollout area, no schedule is published yet

When the construction phase in your district ends can change. The town gives the current status on its website (link below). According to the town, the full network will be complete in approx. 2027. In Jügesheim, a central distribution point has been in operation since 24 March 2026. Since then, the first connections there have been activated.

Who gets the connection free of charge?

The town names two cases:

  1. You already submitted the property owner declaration (Grundstückseigentümererklärung). Then your house connection is free.
  2. You did not submit it yet. Then the connection is only free if you sign a fibre contract with one of the participating providers.

After the construction phase, a house connection costs approx. 1,500 euros, according to the network operator.

Who builds, and who decides?

The town does not build the network. A company builds it: Westconnect GmbH. The town gives information about the rollout on its website and answers questions. You decide yourself, as the property owner, if you want a connection.

I do not recommend a provider or a tariff. Compare them yourself.
